400 Watt hour per kilogram is more than twice the energy density of currently available batteries. E.g. Nissan Leaf has 150 Wh/kg.
Because the battery is smaller for a given capacity, less material is used in its construction. This exerts a downward pressure on cost. Additionally, Envia's new battery substitutes inexpensive manganese for more expensive nickel.
