OnePlus 3 has a faster fingerprint scanner than the iPhone 6s (video)

Fingerprint scanners have been available for unlocking mobile phones for some time. Initially, iOS devices were faster & more accurate than Android devices. More recently, Android has caught up to the point where 9TO5Google has declared the fingerprint scanner on the OnePlus 3 to be, “clearly faster”, than the iPhone 6s.

Yes, the Android is faster. Will the difference be important in practice? No. Most of the difference is due to the animation on the iPhone. If the animation is disabled, the two devices can only be separated with slow motion video.

On the other hand, you might like to keep in mind that fingerprint scanners have been hacked. You may prefer to implement password-free unlocking of your phone using a bluetooth device.
