Hacking geigers: Safecast crowdsources radiation data in Japan after Fukushima disaster

Advocates of nuclear energy point to the relatively small number of deaths from a nuclear disaster, at the time of the accident.  It serves their purpose to ignore the death & disease caused, not only to those exposed on the day, but to those exposed in the days, months & years following.   In Japan, something is being done about measuring the ongoing danger:
