Apple has a major event every year in September, at which the new iPhone is announced. This year it will be at 10:00am US West Coast time on 07 September (5pm GMT, 3am 08 September Australian EST).
Apple upgrades its iPhone to a new number every second year, with a minor, “s” upgrade on the alternate year. Last year was the 6s (& 6s Plus), so this year should be the 7 (& 7 Plus).
What to expect on Wednesday:
● new design with revised antenna lines
● no earphone socket
● new earphones utilising the Lightning socket – an earphone plug to Lightning adapter is almost certain to be offered – just what combination will be included in the box is another question – & other manufacturers are ready to take up any slack
● additional camera – probably only in the Plus – depending on the implementation, may yield better definition, &/or low light performance &/or performance equivalent to an optical zoom
