Could FTTN replace Australia's NBN?

VDSL2, FTTN, NBN — what's it all mean?

Australia is rolling out a National Broadband Network which will bring world-leading fiber-to-the-home speeds of 100 Mbps+ nation wide.

Such an ambitious project is expensive & a more-heat-than-light debate has arisen. Many cheaper (though generally slower) alternatives (including mobile) have been suggested. Discussion of alternative technologies at:
