Mercedes will release first mass-market fuel cell in 2014
Although, let's not forget that they did miss a previous target for 2010:
$40,750 a night
$40,750 a night may sound cheap, but it will cost $818,000 to get to the Russian space hotel.
View, though, is unrivaled.

Swarmanoid Bots unite to carry out a mission (video)
Swarmanoid — a group of robots with differing abilities co-operating to complete a task.
Or as one commenter puts it, "get the book (in this case) or ferret the last human resistance out of an underground bunker (later) on their own".

Deep fried butter
"Gastronomic disaster"? "Fat of mass destruction"? "A tale of two lipids"? No, "Deep fried butter" best coveys the full horror.
Get it now at the Iowa state fair.
Unfortunately, it isn't completely new. This is from 2010:
And 2009:
Try this yourself: say the words "deep fried butter" to someone. Every person I've said it to has replied, "What?" They can't believe what they're hearing.
After they recover, show them this item.

Mexico sees future with biofuels
A problem with biofuels is that they compete for arable land & food (corn & sugar cane have been used as feedstocks). Mexico has recently been running trials with biofuels derived from the Jatropha plant which can be grown in arid & marginal land.

Interesting article. Very interesting comments, written by people who appear have thought before they started writing. Almost unique, sadly.
