Blue sky gives a blue cast to everything in daylight. Before humans learned to control fire, light after sunset was typically very dim – moonlight or starlight. Fire gave humans relatively bright light after sunset, but it still differed from daylight in having a red-yellow cast. First open fires, & later candles, oil lamps, kerosene lamps & incandescent electric light all have a red-yellow cast.
More recently, fluorescent & LED lighting has exposed us to light with a blue cast after sunset. TV, computer, phone & other screens, usually have a blue cast too.
